I love making stuff out of wood! Lucky for me, there's a store right in Bellingham called the Re-Store. They recycle building and construction materials. I went prowling last week and found not only this antique stair spindle but also some sweet little cherry wood knobs that are from the 70 year old high school science lab. Here, I've measured and sawn the stair spindle and am preparing to sand it down. As a final goal, it will become my first Nostepinne.
